How to Access YouTube Search Insights?

Search Insights is located within the Research tab in YouTube Studio on the desktop. You can access it by logging into YouTube Studio and clicking on Analytics in the left-hand navigation menu. Navigate to the ‘Research’ tab from there.

This is very helpful for content planning and deciding which keywords are worth targeting. You can also use the data to determine if there is any potential for creating content around a keyword that has a lot of search volume but very few relevant results.

Find content gaps

All you need to do is click on the three dots adjacent to the search volume for a given keyword, and it’ll take you to Google Trends, where you can view and compare search trends for various keywords.

It will also display the search volume for keywords (low, medium, or high) and the number of views your channel received from searches for those keywords in the past 28 days. You can save searches and track the performance of specific keywords. You can also review search metrics over time to gain insight into which keywords are recording the changes over time, you can track the progress of your content and optimize it based on viewers’ interests.
